What Happened to JavaScript Report?

Some readers may arrive here via posts from a blog I previously published called JavaScript Report. It was a little over two years ago that I abruptly stopped contributing to that blog. At the time, I received a number of emails and Twitter DMs asking what was going on, which was understandable as I had about 2000 newsletter subscribers and healthy monthly traffic on the site.

I thought I'd briefly fill in that period of time as I kick off work on this new blog. The short story is that I got sick with a nasty case of mononucleosis that laid me up for three months. Doctors weren't sure what it was at first because it was an unusual type. So there was a period where I was thinking that it might be something very serious. Fortunately, it resolved and I've been healthy since.

But I did have a perspective shift as a result of the illness. I no longer wanted the rigid publication schedule I had fallen into. And besides that, my professional interests were shifting toward serverless architectures and cloud computing in general.

So this blog is much more casual, more personal and there is no publication schedule whatsoever. I'll share when I feel like I have something to say, and having this relaxed attitude feels really great.

If you'd like to connect, I'm on Twitter and my DMs are open.
